Notice is hereby given pursuant to subsection 525(2) of the Bank Act that BNP Paribas, a foreign bank incorporated under the laws of France, intends to apply to the Minister of Finance of Canada for an order permitting it to establish a branch in Canada to carry on the business of banking in Canada under its own name, BNP Paribas. DOMINION WATER-POWER APPLICATION

Okikendawt Hydro L.P., a partnership between the Dokis First Nation and Hydromega Energy (ONT) Inc., located at 931 Main Street, #62, Dokis Reserve, Monetville, Ontario P0M 2K0, hereby gives notice that on September 7, 2011, an application was filed with the Director of Water-Power, Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada, under the Dominion Water Power Act for a licence to develop, construct and operate a small hydroelectric generating facility.

The facility would be located on the French River, near the Dokis First Nation, at the site of Portage Dam (part of Lots 18, 19 and 20, Concession 21, township of Hardy, district of Parry Sound). The facility would have a nameplate capacity of 10 MW and the energy generated would be sold to the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) under a 40-year contract.

An 18 m wide by 78 m long intake channel would convey water from Lake Nipissing into the powerhouse. The powerhouse would be constructed north of the existing Portage Dam; the approximate footprint would be 44 m in length with a width of 19 m. Water would be discharged into the French River via a 525 m long, 18 m wide tailrace canal that would extend from the powerhouse. The tailrace canal would be constructed in the existing Portage channel.

An environmental screening for this project has been conducted in accordance with the provisions and requirements of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act. It has been determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects and may proceed provided the mitigation measures identified in the environmental screening report are implemented.

Under the Dominion Water Power Act, interested parties may provide comments in writing within 30 calendar days of the date of this notice to Mr. Glen Stephens, Director, Land and Water Management, Northern Affairs Organization, Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada, 15-25 Eddy Street, 10th Floor, Gatineau, Quebec K1A 0H4.
