FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION ACT
Arthur Bernard Tax Remission Order
P.C. 2011-1324 November 17, 2011
His Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that the collection of the interest is unjust, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Revenue, pursuant to subsection 23(2) (see footnote a) of the Financial Administration Act (see footnote b), hereby remits interest in the amount of $21,171.16, paid or payable under Part Ⅰ of the Income Tax Act (see footnote c) by Arthur Bernard for the 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984 and 1985 taxation years, having accrued during the period beginning on January 1, 1987 and ending on August 26, 1993, and all relevant interest on it.
(This note is not part of the Order.)
The Order remits a portion of the interest, and all relevant interest on it, paid or payable by Arthur Bernard for the 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984 and 1985 taxation years.
Collection of the interest would be unjust and would produce an inequitable result for Mr. Bernard.
