SEX OFFENDER INFORMATION REGISTRATION ACT

Regulations Amending the Ontario Sex Offender Information Registration Regulations

The Lieutenant Governor in Council of Ontario, pursuant to subsection 18(1) (see footnote a) of the Sex Offender Information Registration Act (see footnote b), makes the annexed Regulations Amending the Ontario Sex Offender Information Registration Regulations.

COMING INTO FORCE

39. These Regulations come into force on the day on which they are registered.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)

The Sex Offender Information Registration Act provides that the lieutenant governor in council of a province may, by regulation, designate places or classes of places in the province as registration centres to which sex offenders must report or provide notification as required under the Act. The Regulations Amending the Ontario Sex Offender Information RegistrationRegulations make corrections to certain of the descriptions for registration centres already designated, they repeal the designations of 10 places as registration centres, and they designate 3 additional places as registration centres in Ontario. The Regulations come into force on the day on which they are registered.
