Least Developed Country Tariff Withdrawal Order (2013 GPT Review)

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to section 38 (see footnote a) of the Customs Tariff (see footnote b), makes the annexed Least Developed Country Tariff Withdrawal Order (2013 GPT Review).

LEAST DEVELOPED COUNTRY TARIFF WITHDRAWAL ORDER (2013 GPT REVIEW)

WITHDRAWAL OF ENTITLEMENT

1. Entitlement to the benefit of the Least Developed Country Tariff is withdrawn in respect of all goods that originate in Equatorial Guinea and Maldives.

EXEMPTION

2. Section 1 does not apply to goods that were in transit to Canada before January 1, 2015.

AMENDMENTS TO THE CUSTOMS TARIFF SCHEDULE

3. The List of Countries and Applicable Tariff Treatments set out in the schedule to the Customs Tariff (see footnote 1) is amended by deleting the symbol “X” in the column “LDCT” opposite “Equatorial Guinea” and “Maldives” in the column “Country Name”.

COMING INTO FORCE

4. This Order comes into force on January 1, 2015.
