PUBLIC SERVICE REARRANGEMENT AND TRANSFER OF DUTIES ACT

Transfer of Duties Order

P.C. 2013-1052 October 4, 2013

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to paragraph 2(a) (see footnote a) of the Public Service Rearrangement and Transfer of Duties Act (see footnote b), transfers to the Minister of Health

• (a) effective October 7, 2013,
  • (i) all of the powers, duties and functions of the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food under the Canadian Food Inspection Agency Act (see footnote c), except the powers, duties or functions conferred on the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food under subsection 4(2) of that Act that do not relate to food safety,
  • (ii) all of the powers, duties and functions of the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food relating to food safety under any Act of Parliament, and
  • (iii) the control and supervision of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency; and
• (b) effective on the day on which the Safe Food for Canadians Act (see footnote d) comes into force under s. 111 of that Act, all of the powers, duties and functions of the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food relating to food safety under that Act.
