PROPOSED REGULATORY TEXT
Notice is given that the Governor in Council, pursuant to subsection 30(1) (see footnote a) of the Food and Drugs Act (see footnote b), proposes to make the annexed Regulations Amending the Food and Drug Regulations.
Interested persons may make representations concerning the proposed Regulations within 75 days after the date of publication of this notice. REGULATIONS AMENDING THE FOOD
AND DRUG REGULATIONS
AMENDMENT
1. Section B.02.003 of the Food and Drug Regulations (see footnote 1) is replaced by the following:
B.02.003. If an alcoholic beverage contains 1.1% or more alcohol by volume, the percentage by volume of alcohol present in the alcoholic beverage shall be shown on the principal display panel
- (a) followed by the words “alcohol by volume” or the abbreviation “alc./vol.” or “alc/vol”; or
- (b) preceded by the abbreviation “alc.” or “alc” and followed by the abbreviation “vol.” or “vol”.
COMING INTO FORCE
2. These Regulations come into force on January 1, 2014.
