RADIOCOMMUNICATION ACT
Notice No. SMSE-012-13 — Release of new standards RSS-130 and SRSP-518
Notice is hereby given by Industry Canada that the following standards come into force effective immediately:
- Radio Standards Specification RSS-130, Issue 1: Mobile Broadband Services (MBS) Equipment Operating in the Frequency Bands 698-756 MHz and 777-787 MHz, which sets out the certification requirements for transmitters and receivers for MBS systems in the frequency bands 698-756 MHz and 777-787 MHz; and
- Standard Radio System Plan SRSP-518, Issue 1: Technical Requirements for Mobile Broadband Radio Services in the Bands 698-756 MHz and 777-787 MHz, which sets out the minimum technical requirements for the efficient utilization of the 700 MHz band for Mobile Broadband Services.
RSS-130 and SRSP-518 address certification and licensing requirements for equipment operating in the 700 MHz band for Mobile Broadband Services.
General information
These documents have been coordinated with industry through the Radio Advisory Board of Canada (RABC).
The Equipment and Radio Apparatus Standards Lists will be amended to reflect the above changes.

For matters regarding the SRSP, please contact the Manager, Mobile Engineering (srsp.pnrh@ic.gc.ca).
All submissions received by the close of the comment period will be posted on Industry Canada’s Spectrum Management and Telecommunications Web site at www.ic.gc.ca/spectrum.
