The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (the Tribunal) has received a complaint (File No. PR-2013-026) from Flag Connection Inc. (Flag), of Lion’s Head, Ontario, concerning a procurement (Solicitation No. B8817-120110/A) by the Department of Public Works and Government Services (PWGSC) on behalf of the Department of Citizenship and Immigration. The solicitation is for the provision of Canadian flags for promotional use. Pursuant to subsection 30.13(2) of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Act and subsection 7(2) of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Procurement Inquiry Regulations, notice is hereby given that the Tribunal has decided to conduct an inquiry into the complaint.

Flag alleges that PWGSC improperly evaluated its proposal.

SPECIES AT RISK ACT

Description of critical habitat of the Common Hoptree in Point Pelee National Park of Canada

The Common Hoptree (Ptelea trifoliata) is a deciduous tree listed on Schedule 1 of the Species at Risk Act as threatened. In Canada, the species has always likely been rare, and it is found mainly in sandy shoreline habitats in southern Ontario. The recovery strategy for the Common Hoptree (Ptelea trifoliata) in Canada (www.registrelep-sararegistry.gc.ca/document/default_e. cfm?documentID=2316) identifies critical habitat for the species in a number of areas, including federally protected areas.

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to subsection 58(2) of the Species at Risk Act, that, 90 days after the date of publication of this notice, subsection 58(1) of the Act will apply to the critical habitat of the Common Hoptree identified in the recovery strategy on the Species at Risk Public Registry. This critical habitat is located within Point Pelee National Park of Canada, the boundaries of which are described in Schedule 1 of the Canada National Parks Act.
