EXEMPTION FROM FOREIGN BANK STATUS

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to subsection 12(3) of the Bank Act, that the Bank for International Settlements, an international organization established under the Hague Convention respecting the Bank for International Settlements of January 20, 1930, and headquartered at Centralbahnplatz 2, Basel, Switzerland, will be making an application to the Minister of Finance for an order, pursuant to subsection 12(1) of the Bank Act, exempting it from being a foreign bank, as that term is used in the Bank Act.

LETTERS PATENT OF CONTINUANCE

Notice is hereby given that Olympia Trust Company (the “Company”), incorporated under the Loan and Trust Corporations Act (Alberta), with its head office in Calgary, Alberta, intends to file an application, pursuant to section 31 of the Trust and Loan Companies Act (Canada) [the “TLCA”], for the Minister of Finance to issue letters patent continuing the Company as a trust company under the TLCA with the legal name, in English, “Olympia Trust Company”, and, in French, “Société de fiducie Olympia”.

Any person who objects to the proposed continuance may submit an objection in writing by May 6, 2024, to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, either by post at 255 Albert Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H2 or by email at approvals-approbations@osfi-bsif.gc.ca.

Note: The publication of this notice should not be construed as evidence that letters patent will be issued to continue the Company as a trust company under the TLCA. The granting of the letters patent will be dependent upon the application review process under the TLCA and the discretion of the Minister of Finance.

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with subsection 39(3) of the Insurance Companies Act (the “Act”), that Scotia General Insurance Company (“SGIC”) intends to apply to the Minister of Finance (Canada), on or after April 15, 2024, for approval to apply under the Canada Business Corporations Act (the “CBCA”) for a certificate of continuance as a corporation under the CBCA. The board of directors of SGIC may, however, without further approval of the sole shareholder of SGIC, withdraw the application for continuance before it is acted on, in accordance with subsection 39(4) of the Act.

TERMINATION OF THE NORTHERN TRANSPORTATION COMPANY LIMITED PENSION PLAN

Notice concerning the termination of the Pension Plan for Employees of the Northern Transportation Company Limited (Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions registration No. 55775, referred to as the “NTCL Plan”).

This notice concerns former employees of the Northern Transportation Company Limited and NorTerra Inc. employees who were members of the NTCL Plan. The NTCL Plan was terminated as of March 31, 2020, and the Administrator will be distributing the plan assets to all eligible members.

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to subsections 7.6(4) and (5) of the Pension Benefits Standards Act, 1985, that any persons who have not been contacted previously by TELUS Health (formerly LifeWorks / Morneau Shepell), the appointed Administrator for the NTCL Plan, and who believe they have pension benefits and rights as at March 31, 2020, under the NTCL Plan or under the Pension Benefits Standards Act, 1985, to present their claims to the Administrator before April 12, 2024, at the following address:
