Order Fixing the Days on which Certain Sections of that Act Come into Force

P.C. 2019-1289 August 28, 2019

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to section 50 of the Indigenous Languages Act, chapter 23 of the Statutes of Canada, 2019, fixes

• (a) the day after the day on which this Order is made as the day on which sections 1 to 11, 13, 13.1, 16, 18 and 19 of that Act come into force; and
• (b) the earlier of October 1, 2020 and the day on which a Commissioner is appointed under section 13 of that Act as the day on which sections 12, 14, 15, 17 and 20 to 49.1 of that Act come into force.
