Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to section 11 ^{footnote a} of the Ministries and Ministers of State Act ^{footnote b}, assigns the Honourable Karina Gould, Minister of State (Service Canada) to be styled Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, to assist the Minister of Employment and Social Development in the carrying out of that Minister’s responsibilities.
