Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, makes the annexed Least Developed Country Tariff Withdrawal (2023 LDCT Review) Order under paragraph 38(1)(b) of the Customs Tariff footnote a.

Least Developed Country Tariff Withdrawal (2023 LDCT Review) Order

Withdrawal of Entitlement

1 Entitlement to the benefit of the Least Developed Country Tariff is withdrawn in respect of all goods that originate in the following countries:

Exemption

2 Section 1 does not apply to goods that were in transit to Canada before January 1, 2025.

Amendment to the Customs Tariff Schedule

3 The List of Countries and Applicable Tariff Treatments set out in the schedule to the Customs Tariff footnote a is amended by deleting, in the column “LDCT”, the symbol “X” opposite the references in the column “Country Name” to “Cape Verde”, “Samoa”, “Tuvalu” and “Vanuatu”.

Coming into Force

4 This Order comes into force on January 1, 2025.
