Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, makes the annexed Order Amending the Privacy Act Extension Order No. 1 (Miscellaneous Program) under subsection 12(3) of the Privacy Act ^{footnote a}.

Order Amending the Privacy Act Extension Order No. 1 (Miscellaneous Program)

Amendment

1 Section 2 of the Privacy Act Extension Order No. 1 ^{footnote 1} is replaced by the following:

2 The right to be given access to personal information under subsection 12(1) of the Privacy Act is extended to include an inmate, as defined in subsection 2(1) of the Corrections and Conditional Release Act, who is not a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, as defined in subsection 2(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

Coming into Force

2 This Order comes into force on the day on which it is registered.
