BANK OF CHINA LIMITED
APPLICATION TO ESTABLISH A FOREIGN BANK BRANCH
Notice is hereby given pursuant to subsection 525(2) of the Bank Act that Bank of China Limited, a foreign bank with its head office in Beijing, China, intends to apply to the Minister of Finance for an order permitting it to establish a foreign bank branch in Canada to carry on the business of banking.
The branch will carry on business in Canada under the name Bank of China, Toronto Branch in the English form and Banque de Chine, succursale de Toronto in the French form, and its principal office will be located in Markham, Ontario.
Any person who objects to the proposed order may submit an objection in writing to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, 255 Albert Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H2, on or before June 26, 2012.
Note: The publication of this Notice should not be construed as evidence that an order will be issued to establish the foreign bank branch. The granting of the order will be dependent upon the normal Bank Act application review process and the discretion of the Minister of Finance.

Canoe Pass Tidal Energy Corp. hereby gives notice that an application has been made to the Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities under the Navigable Waters Protection Act for approval of the plans and site of the work described herein. Under section 9 of the said Act, Canoe Pass Tidal Energy Corp. has deposited with the Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and in the Victoria Land Title Office, at Victoria, British Columbia, under deposit No. FB455708, a description of the site and plans for the removal of a portion of an earthen causeway installed by the federal government in 1942 and the installation of a steel piling support structure for two 250 kW vertical axis cross-flow turbines to generate electricity from the tidal current. The turbines are approximately 7 m in height and diameter. Ancillary works include the construction of a barge ramp and docking float. A two-hectare upland site will be cleared for site support and construction activities. Pedestrian access will be maintained from Quadra Island to Maud Island. Fish habitat altered through the removal of a portion of the causeway will be replaced through the creation of new habitat reefs made up of the removed material, on unsurveyed foreshore or land covered by water being part of the bed of Seymour Narrows, fronting DL 811 and 179 together with DL 1529, 1530 and 1531, on Maud Island, all of Sayward Land District, in the province of British Columbia.
Comments regarding the effect of this work on marine navigation may be directed to the Superintendent, Navigable Waters Protection Program, Transport Canada, 800 Burrard Street, Suite 620, Vancouver, British Columbia V6Z 2J8. However, comments will be considered only if they are in writing and are received not later than 30 days after the date of publication of the last notice. Although all comments conforming to the above will be considered, no individual response will be sent.
